FAQ: SERVICES AND WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION?
Your first therapy session is designed to achieve multiple goals, such as establishing a new relationship with your therapist, getting to know your problem(s), and learning about the ways that psychological treatment might help. Your therapist will ask questions about your experiences and symptoms as well as your background and any information that might help them to better understand who you are. At the end of the session, your therapist will ask if you would like to schedule a time to meet again, which is when the "work" of therapy can truly begin. Please feel free to ask your therapist about their training or approach. It is extremely important for the therapeutic relationship to feel like a good fit!
DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?
Currently, Dr. Noel Shadowen is in-network with Aetna and Quest Behavioral Health and Dr. Lindsay Anmuth is in-network with Aetna and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. For all other insurances, our psychologists are considered out-of-network providers. This means that we do not work directly with any other insurance companies. When we are not in network with their insurance company, our process is to bill clients directly for the cost of their sessions and provide any documentation needed to submit a reimbursement claim. Each plan is different, so it is important to have your benefits verified. Our admin assistant can help to determine reimbursement policies. Clients are also recommended to call their insurance companies to inquire about how much they should expect to receive. See our "Cost of Treatment" page for specific codes that your insurance company might ask for!
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
Standard Fees:
-
Individual therapy session (50 minutes) - $185
-
Couples therapy session (75 minutes) - $200
-
Psychological Assessment - Arranged on a case by case basis - Please inquire!
*Our clinicians consider sliding scale fees, which are adjusted based on reported income and offered when insurance companies deny the reimbursement claims. Please ask about our policies and availability.
