FAQ: SERVICES AND WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION?
Your first therapy session is designed to achieve multiple goals, such as establishing a new relationship with your therapist, getting to know your problem(s), and learning about the ways that psychological treatment might help. Your therapist will ask questions about your experiences and symptoms as well as your background and any information that might help them to better understand who you are. At the end of the session, your therapist will ask if you would like to schedule a time to meet again, which is when the "work" of therapy can truly begin. Please feel free to ask your therapist about their training or approach. It is extremely important for the therapeutic relationship to feel like a good fit!
DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?
Currently, our entire team is in-network with Aetna and select clinicians are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Additionally, Dr. Shadowen is in-network with Quest and Dr. Anmuth is in-network with Modern Health.
When we are not in network with a client's insurance company, our process is to bill clients directly for the cost of their sessions and provide any documentation needed to submit a reimbursement claim. Each plan is different, so it is important to have your benefits verified. Our admin assistant can help to determine deductibles and reimbursement policies. You can also verify your out-of-network reimbursement policy yourself by using our benefits checker. (Clients are recommended to follow up with their insurance companies to double check the info provided by the benefits checker tool). See our "Cost of Treatment" page for specific codes that your insurance company might ask for!
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
Standard Fees:
-
Individual therapy session (50 minutes) - $200
-
Couples therapy session (75 minutes) - $215
-
Psychological Assessment - Arranged on a case by case basis - Please inquire!
*Our clinicians consider sliding scale fees, which are adjusted based on reported income and offered when insurance companies deny the reimbursement claims. Please ask about our policies and availability.
