Wondering if you have ADHD?

Is it Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or something else?

Our psychologists conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments to evaluate for ADHD. All assessments can be done virtually, with a full report delivered to you in as little as 2 weeks. We also collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other therapists to share those results and coordinate care.

The ADHD Evaluation Process

Are you looking for a virtual ADHD assessment? We can help.

Our comprehensive ADHD evaluation process is designed according to 3 important pillars: a semi-structured interview, self-report measures, and collateral information. All are completed virtually and culminate in a lengthy report that presents our findings, contextualizes them within your unique background and story, and produces not only a potential diagnosis but relevant recommendations (including psychiatry referrals, how to communicate with your medical provider, self-help books and resources, and targeted guidance to help you meet your goals for better organization, planning, and focus).

Schedule your interview session and complete self-report measures on your own time.

After scheduling your interview, your psychologist will send you several measures to complete. You will be asked to log on to a few secure portals in order to complete all of the measures. The results are kept confidential and only shared with our office.

Meet for your interview.

Your 2-hour appointment includes a getting-to-know you portion as well as a semi-structured diagnostic interview for ADHD. This is a very important part of the process, as it might reveal other diagnostic questions that can be pursued and potentially answered (e.g. is it ADHD or are your symptoms a product of anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, medical concerns, chronic stress, being stuck in difficult behavioral patterns, etc.?) If other questions arise, your psychologist might send additional measures or seek more information from you. This part is a little like psychological detective work!

Think about asking a family member, partner, or close friend to weigh in.

One of the important pillars of a good evaluation involves collecting an observation from someone who knows you very well. ADHD is a condition that begins before the age of 12, so think about involving close family members or friends who have known you the longest. Your observer is simply sent a confidential questionnaire to complete about their impressions.

Receive your report.

Reports are completed in as little ast 2 weeks and are typically 5-7 pages long. Your report will include your background and story, how your symptoms and current experiences fit in, the impact of those within your life, whether your experience warrants a formal diagnosis, and targeted recommendations to help you improve your functioning. Recommendations can include referrals for specific psychiatrists that we trust and have collaborated, how to talk with your medical provider about your needs, self-help resources or podcasts, goals for future therapy (if you choose), and targeted behavioral changes to promote better organization, planning, focus, etc.

Your psychologist can consult and collaborate with other professionals on your behalf. Just sign a release form and say the word!

Cost

The standard cost of an ADHD assessment is $1,200. This includes all phases of the assessment and a full report plus collaboration with other professionals. If a lengthier evaluation is needed (i.e. if additional information comes to light and other diagnoses are pursued) a higher cost might apply.

Insurance Coverage

Our psychologists are in-network with Aetna and most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. If you have a plan with either of these insurance companies, we can complete your assessment in-network and bill your insurance company for the cost. If this is the case, you must agree to pay all costs that the insurance company does not cover (this can range from a small co-pay to a larger amount and might be applied to your deductible). If you're not sure if we are in-network, please ask and we will figure it out together!
